Dr. Pamela Anderson Appreciates Local Community College
Tri-County Community College was the foundation of my education. I knew in high school that I wanted to become an Optometrist, but I could not afford to go off to college after graduation. TCCC gave me a great start. After TCCC, I went on to Western Carolina University and then to the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. I now have a practice in Murphy, NC.
I benefitted from TCCC in many ways. I became an assistant to Sara Harper in Guided Studies, and I enjoyed tutoring other students in Math and Chemistry. Those skills have come in handy now as I help my daughter with these subjects. My fondest memories about TCCC are about the family atmosphere there. I enjoyed assisting faculty member Dan Goff in his classes and I was a runner up in the Miss TCCC beauty contest!
The classes at TCCC were tough and I worked full time while I attended school. At TCCC I learned that if there is something that you want badly enough, you can do it. |
