Green Building
This course provides instruction on designing and building sustainable homes or small buildings. Topics include best practices in green building; guidelines for site, water, building and materials issues; tax credits, and quality assurance strategies. Upon completion, students will have a base knowledge of “green” concepts and its application on the job. 30 hours

Introduction to Electrical Assistant
This course is designed to provide an in-depth knowledge of the principles of electrical wiring as it applies to commercial/residential applications. Emphasis is on Ohm’s Law, alternating and direct current, series circuits, parallel circuits, and series parallel circuits, use of electrical tools and equipment, wiring materials and many other special subjects. Preventive maintenance and troubleshooting as well as National Electrical Code will be covered. This course leads to employment in the commercial/residential wiring industry. 96 hours

OSHA 10 Hour Construction
This course is a basic overview of the recognition and avoidance of unsafe conditions on the job site and will provide the student with a basic understanding of OSHA regulations, enforcement, and compliance. Topics include discussions of the OSHA standards that relate to scaffolds and ladders, excavation and trenching, electrical safety, personal protection equipment, fire protection and prevention, health hazards, concrete and steel erection, material handling, tools and welding, heavy equipment, and cranes. Optional topics include motor vehicles, rollover protection, cutting, masonry structure, blasting and the use of explosives. 10 hours

Nursing Assistant II
This 170 hour course prepares graduates to perform more complex skills such as sterile dressings, tube feeding, trach care, catheter insertion, and other skills, regardless of the setting. Upon satisfactory completion of the course and skill/competency evaluation by the instructor, the graduate is eligible to apply for listing as a Nurse Aide II by the NC Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry. The clinical portion of this course requires daytime attendance. In order to participate in this course, you must be a Certified Nurse Assistant I who is in good standing, provide proof of High School graduation or GED equivalent, and must have a current CPR certification. 170 hours

Phlebotomy
Phlebotomy training prepares the student to draw blood specimens from patients for the purpose of testing and analyzing blood. A phlebotomist’s job includes maintenance of equipment used in obtaining blood specimen; the use of appropriate communication skills when working with patients; the selection of venipuncture sites; the care of blood specimen; and the entry of the testing process into the computer, as well as clerical duties associated with record keeping of the blood tests. The course consists of theory and clinical experiences in performing blood collections. The student must be a high school graduate or have equivalent GED. 200 hours

This class identifies the key components of a CNC lathes, mills and EDM machines. The relationship between processes and products are explored through different roles in a manufacturing company. The class goes further to describe the basic principles of non-ferrous metals, fasteners and grinding wheel applications. 48 hours

The purpose of this course is to introduce jigs, fixtures, locating processes, clamps, chucks, collets and vises. This course prepares an individual for entry-level healthcare billing and coding positions. Course topics can include but are not limited to the roles and responsibilities of this position, managed health care, life cycle of an insurance claim, legal and regulatory considerations, coding regulations, reimbursement issues, claim instructions, medical terminology, filing commercial claims, insurance plans, Medicare, Medicaid, Tricare, and Workers’ Compensation. Real Estate Relationships and Responsibilities
