JobPREP: A Pre- and Re-Employment Program
TCCC’s free JobPREP classes are geared for those who are entering the job market for the first time, are searching for a new job, or are looking to change careers. These courses teach how to learn about new jobs, explore job possibilities, or transition into a new career. JobPREP is a collaboration of Tri-County Community College, the Employment Security Commission, JobLink, and local employers. Classes are FREE and will be held at the Cherokee County Center for Applied Technology in Marble. Start dates for each class are listed below. HRD Computer Class
During this five-week class, you will be learn to use the computer to search for jobs and occupational information, compile employment related documents (resumes, cover letters, applications), access governmental and educational resources, and learn the role of information technology in the world of work. 30 hours

JobPREP Career Explorations
This course provides employability skills training for unemployed and underemployed adults. The curriculum framework is based on a specific occupation and addresses one or more of the following topics: career exploration; job seeking and keeping strategies, entry-level skill awareness and development, and training success strategies including note-taking, test-taking strategies, reducing test anxiety, and preparing for certification exams and placement tests. This class also includes WIN testing. 9 hours

JobPREP Career Transitions
This course will teach students many vital resources for entering or re-entering the workforce. Internet job searches will be performed in an attempt to help students find employment in their specific fields of interest. Students will learn how to properly complete job applications both online and on paper. Another asset of this class will be the resume building excercises. The Career Readiness Certificate will also be earned during the last four hours of this class. This is a nationally recognized North Carolina credential that is becoming a highly desired asset for employees to possess. These classes are designed to give students the necessary tools they need to successfully gain employment. 15 hours
