The Tri-County Community College Foundation will host its 9th Annual Golf Tournament on Saturday, May 20, at The Ridges Country Club in Hayesville.

“The annual golf tournament is one of the Foundation’s most popular and well-attended events,” said Dotie Stafford-Ortega, chair of Tri-County Community College’s event committee. “This year we are excited with all we have to offer our participants.”

This year’s tournament will feature a three-person team format. The best-ball, shotgun-start tournament will also include more than $3,800 in prizes for participants to claim.

Stafford-Ortega said participants will enjoy 18-hole tournament play, a free practice round of golf the week prior to the tournament, a complimentary buffet style breakfast, and a commemorative gift.

The registration fee is set at $100 per person which includes greens fees and a cart on the day of the tournament. Golfers will tee off at 9 a.m. after a complimentary breakfast buffet.

“This event is open to the public, so golfers are invited to form their own teams and enjoy friendly competition with other groups,” Stafford-Ortega said.

There is a limit to the number of teams that can participate in this tournament, and with space filling up quickly, participants are strongly encouraged to pre-register.

“All proceeds from the golf tournament support the the college Foundation’s Student Enrichment Fund, which supports college and community-based events and projects,” Stafford-Ortega said.
