bletAre you interested in a career in law enforcement? If the answer is yes, then Tri County Community College has the course you need to enter this exciting occupational field.

North Carolina Basic Law Enforcement Training (BLET) course, which is a state accredited program, is designed to prepare entry level individuals with the cognitive and physical skills to become certified police officers and deputy sheriffs. Upon completion, this state mandated course will enable the graduate to be certified to work as a sworn law enforcement officer in the State of North Carolina. Students must be sponsored by a law enforcement agency and complete an application packet and be accepted to the program.

The next Basic Law Enforcement Training course is scheduled to start May 19, 2014. Students that are interested in attending must turn in their completed application packets to Allen Denny by April 16. A pre-orientation meeting will be held at the Cherokee County Center for Applied Technology (CCCAT ) in Marble on Wednesday, April 30, at 3:00 p.m. For more information, or if you would like to schedule a meeting, please call Allen at (828) 835-4243.
