Earth Day Activities at Tri-County Community College

Earth Day, April 22, the annual event to raise awareness of our planet and its health, was started by a Wisconsin senator in 1970 who wanted to see the passion of the anti-war protestors funneled into a concern for the environment. Since then, the day has become an international celebration for humanity’s concern for all environmental issues.

Closer to home, at Tri-County Community College, volunteers from both faculty and staff spread pallets of mulch, pulled weeds, pruned trees, planted flowers, and generally spent the day improving the environment of TCCC. A walk around campus shows the results of their hard work, made even more impressive by the beautiful spring weather.
