Witches, ghostbusters, superheroes, and even emojis came out to celebrate Halloween at Tri-County Community College’s (TCCC) annual Fall Fling and costume contest.
Beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 31 in front of the Harper Building, students gathered for a lunch provided by TCCC faculty and staff before heading to the Enloe Multi-Purpose room for the annual costume contest and dance.
President Dr. Donna Tipton-Rogers joined onlookers in cheering for the contestants as they took turns doing their best struts to show off their looks.
“It makes me so happy to see you all dressed up,” said Tipton-Rogers in welcome to the packed room. “These judges are going to have their work cut out for them today.”
Participants were judged in four separate categories: Spookiest, Funniest, Most Creative, and Best All-Around costume.
As each entrant strutted their best Halloween looks across the stage, members of the audience cheered on their friends and peers under strobe lights.
When it came time for winners to be recognized, the crowd eagerly huddled around the stage to find out who would take home the top prizes.
In first place for Spookiest costume was Jake Stiles with his murderous “Bye Bye Bunny” outfit.
Davis McHan took home the prize for Funniest costume with his “Mr. October” design.
Samantha Calascione won Most Creative for her handmade bubble gum machine costume.
Best All-Around went to Naaem Ahmed for his “Elderly Gentleman” costume.
