Congratulations are in order for the graduates of the very first Tri-County Community College (TCCC) truck-driving class. The course was given in partnership with the nationally renowned Alliance Tractor-Trailer Training Centers, and held at the TCCC main campus in Peachtree.
Six students, from as far away as Cave Spring, GA, completed the four-week course of study, and four of those students went on to take and pass the exam for their Commercial Drivers License (CDL) in Asheville. The remaining two will take the CDL exam at the first opportunity.
“It was a great first class of students,” said Program Director and Lead Instructor Charles Bucy, of Murphy. They worked hard and passed the course with flying colors.”
William Martin, of Dalton, GA; Susan Autry, of Cave Spring, GA; Steven James, of Murphy; David Jordan, of Robbinsville; Nancy Tanner, of Murphy; and Billy Beavers, also of Murphy are now fully-trained and able to drive an 18-wheeler anywhere in the country.
Once all have passed their CDL exams, the next stop for these six graduates will be to make use of Alliance’s top-flight connections in the trucking industry, as well as the school’s guaranteed lifetime job placement program.
“We are extremely pleased with this partnership,” said Dr. Donna Tipton-Rogers, president of TCCC. “With all the benefits that Alliance offers, coupled with the advantages of having the course here on our campus, we feel certain this program will be of great service to our community.”
Truck driving classes are ongoing, and weekend courses are available for students with other obligations during the week. For more information, contact Ginger Hubbard at (828) 835-4214 or email@example.com.
