Would you like to learn how to knit a Christmas stocking for someone special? Tri-County Community College has a new exciting community enrichment course to teach you how to make a stocking using the “knitting by the magic loop method.”
The five week course will be taught by Carolyn Cordell starting Sept. 8, 2014. There are two sessions available for this course – a day course that will meet on Mondays from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and a Monday evening course from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Making a Christmas stocking using this method is an easy project for a knitter who is familiar with knit/purl. The Magic Loop is a technique using circular needles 32-inches or longer.
TCCC community enrichment instructor Marji Ferrell will be offering two classes for beginner students interested in making stained glass. These classes will acquaint students with the various types of stained glass, tools, chemicals, and building techniques used in stained glass fabrication.
This five week class will also be offered in two sessions, starting Monday, Sept. 8 during the day from 8:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., and a Wednesday evening class starting Sept. 10 from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Finally, do you want to learn how to play the guitar and Guitar Hero® just isn’t cutting it? Maybe it is time for you to grab that guitar and sign up for our beginner guitar class. Beginning something new can be intimidating, but not when you are learning guitar from Wendell McRae. He’s an experienced player who can teach you the important things all players should know. This four week class is suitable for the absolute beginner to the experienced player.
This class will meet on Monday evenings from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. starting Sept. 8.
All three of these classes are being taught on the main campus in Peachtree. To register for any of these classes or any of the many other community enrichment classes offered at Tri-County Community College, call Lisa Long at (828) 835-4241.
