Work-Study Social recognizes students
Work-Study students and their supervisors joined Tri-County Community College (TCCC) President Dr. Donna Tipton-Rogers for a Work-Study Social event in recognition of the time and dedication they commit to the College on November 21 at the Main Campus in Peachtree.
“I just wanted to take this opportunity to say thank you,” said Tipton-Rogers, as she addressed the group of students and staff in the Harper Building. “All of us appreciate the hard work you each give to the College every day.”
Students were able to meet with the president and several other key staff members, as well as mingle with their fellow peers at the informal event.
“It’s great to put faces to names or voices I’ve only heard on the phone,” said Kammi Tacket, a Work-Study student from TCCC’s Graham County Center in Robbinsville.
Following light refreshments, the assembled students discussed their current Work-Study positions with their supervisors and the president.
“The work you’re doing now is an excellent way to boost your resume,” said Diane Owl, director of financial aid at TCCC. “We all are grateful to have you working in our departments.”
