Commercial Driver's License (CDL) Classes

Tri-County Community College offers multiple CDL classes for the aspiring truck driver. These courses are designed to teach students to drive tractor-trailers, trucks, and Lowboys, as well as operations of these vehicles and safety precautions and inspections. This also includes maintenance and compliance practices for use of these trucks.

Class A CDL

This is a 250-hour Class A CDL at the cost of $2,750, plus $60 drug screening.

  • Title: Truck Driver Training
  • Course Description: This course is designed to teach students to drive tractor-trailers and trucks. The program will prepare the prospective driver to understand safety, driver responsibility, and also the laws and regulations governing the motor carrier industry. The course involves extensive training, divided into 3 parts including classroom studies, range driving, and road driving.

Tuition & Fees: The total cost is $2810. A $1,210 nonrefundable deposit must be made on the day of registration, a second payment of $800 must be made on or before the 10th day of class and a final payment of $800 must be made on or before the 18th class meeting.

Class B CDL

This is a 100-hour Class B CDL at the cost of $650, plus $60 drug screening.

  • Title: Commerical Driver License
  • Course Description: This course is designed to develop and teach driving skills necessary to obtain Commercial Driver License.

Tuition & Fees: The total cost is $710, and payment must be made on the day of registration.

TCCC accepts students residing in Tennessee and Georgia, but students must be 21 years of age or older. North Carolina students must be at least 18 years of age or older to attend.
