Come join the fun before the school year begins! We look forward to having your child(ren) with us this year.
“Kids in the Kitchen”: Easy, kid-friendly food preparation and cooking…healthier than fast food and kids can be proud they made it themselves! Recipes include English muffin pizzas, fresh fruit smoothies and other easy ‘meals’ just for kids. Robin Jones – Instructor.
“Play in the Clay” (Pottery): Experiment with basic methods of handbuilding. Learn about coiling, pinching, building with slabs and sculpting. Students will also be introduced to the pottery wheel as time permits. *Supplies included for an additional $15 materials fee.* Ray Kaylor – Instructor.
Creative Science: Explore a number of creative science ideas including bottle rockets, slime, and lava lamps in this fun, informative class. Amber Ledford – Instructor.
Hands-On Water Quality Sampling: Use test kits and thermometers to determine certain water qualities including dissolved oxygen, pH and temperature. Learn to identify stream macroinvertebrates…organisms that lack a backbone and can be seen with the naked eye.
Students must wear closed-toe shoes and older clothes that they don’t mind getting wet and/or muddy as we explore a portion of McComb Branch that flows through the campus of TCCC. Callie Moore – Instructor.
Legos Robotics: Join this popular class and bring “toys” to life. Minds will be challenged and imaginations will be inspired as students build robots and other automated or interactive systems. Judy Breazeale – Instructor.
“Color-full” Abstract Art: Flex your creativity muscles and join this exciting class. Projects include a Chihuly-inspired sculpture using ShrinkyDink paper, Melted Cup Art using plastic cups, and if time permits, an abstract painting on canvas using tape. Creativity can be messy…wear clothes that you don’t mind getting stained. Kelley Jakelis – Instructor.
**PARENTS PLEASE PLAN TO SEND A CHANGE OF CLOTHES FOR THOSE CHILDREN PARTICIPATING IN THE WATER SAMPLING CLASS.**
