In an effort to reduce barriers for students as our communities continue recovering from the pandemic, Tri-County Community College is excited to offer grants designed to give students the resources needed for success. For the 2021-22 academic year only (fall and spring), tuition and fees are covered through the TCCC Free Tuition Opportunity initiative!
The TCCC Free Tuition Opportunity initiative is available to all students and is a “last dollar” program that will kick in after federal and state grants, scholarships, or any other available funding source to pay any remaining tuition and fees balances.
If you are interested in this exciting new initiative, you won’t have to pay a penny for your tuition or fees this fall and spring if you do the following:
Please note: If you are already enrolled for fall 2021, you are still covered under this initiative as long as you fulfill the above criteria.
If you haven’t already enrolled, here is our checklist and information sheet.

Note: This is a “last-option” financial assistance program that provides tuition after all other federal and state funds or any other available funding source have been applied. TCCC will utilize various funding sources: The North Carolina Longleaf Commitment, the American Rescue Plan, Pell Grants (Title IV funds), Governor’s Emergency Education Relief (GEER) fund, and scholarships, as well as support from the TCCC Foundation. This opportunity is subject to the availability of funds.
