Job Retention Grant

North Carolina businesses impacted by the pandemic have only until Sept. 1 to apply for grants of up to $250,000 under a new state COVID-19 relief program.

Job Retention Grant funds will go to businesses and nonprofits whose operations were interrupted by COVID-19. If your organization retained most of its employees and suffered an economic loss during the pandemic, you may qualify. In addition, recipients must not have participated in the federal Paycheck Protection Program, the federal Main Street Lending Program or the N.C. Rapid Recovery Loan Program. No individual grant will exceed $250,000. The potential amount of each grant will not be determined until all applications have been reviewed and awarded.

The N.C. Department of Commerce is administering this new grant program. Applications are accepted online, but only through Tuesday, September 1.

Your region’s Existing Industry Expansions Manager can help your business connect to the Golden LEAF Foundation, the U.S. Small Business Administration, the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and other funding resources to support you through the pandemic.
