Intramural Sports at Tri-County Community College

The Tri-County Community College intramural sports program is designed to provide an outlet for students to participate in a variety of fun and athletic activities. This environment provides students with the opportunity to channel their competitive spirit, expand their athletic abilities and interests, work in teams, understand conflict management, and develop character and leadership skills.

Some of the objectives of this program are:

Exercise and Wellness

  • Desire to develop healthier habits regarding exercise and wellness.
  • Learn an appreciation for physical activity and how it positively impacts our lives.

Character Development

  • Build self-esteem through competitive play and positive interactions with other students and College faculty and staff.
  • Foster, affirm, and respect behaviors related to their beliefs, values, and morals.

Healthy Competition:

  • Develop a culture of respect and fair play.
  • Learn respect for competitors and team members.
  • Learn how to work together to achieve positive group goals.

Conflict Management:

  • Learn to apply sensible conflict management skills.
  • Hold each student accountable for their actions on and off the field/court.

Leadership Development

  • Communication.
  • Motivation.
  • Goal achievement.
